EVENTS

 

DARKHOUSE MEETINGS

Chapter meetings are held at the New York Mills VFW the

2nd Wednesday of each month, October through April.

 

Current East Otter Tail Chapter programs and events:

  • Chapter meetings held at 8:00 p.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, October-April.

  • Guest speakers recruited for the majority of our chapter meetings….click on “Photos” for example(s) of past guest speakers.

  • Raffle held at conclusion of each monthly meeting.

  • Conduct spring cleanup of local lake surfaces prior to ice-out….teams of chapter members meet on local lakes for this annual cleanup project.

  • Decoy making contest for members….beginner-level and advanced-level awards presented.

  • Secondary education scholarships available to chapter members’ youth.

  • Annual large northern and walleye winter fishing contest for members with awards presented each spring.

  • Summer fishing tournament and picnic held for chapter members and their families.

 

Interesting fact:

   The largest annual Minnesota decoy show is held each March in the Perham Community Center.  In conjunction with this popular and well-attended event, the Minnesota Dark House & Angling Club state-wide spring meeting is held in a local Perham facility.
