Northern Lakes Chapter/MDAA

  The Northern Lakes Chapter was organized in 2007 and is our newest Chapter. This area of our State has a rich history of spearing going back into the early 1900's. This area also may have more people participating in the sport of winter darkhouse fishing than any other area in Minnesota. The Minnesota Darkhouse & Angling Assn. warmly welcomes the new members of this Chapter into our organization. We look forward to helping this Chapter build its membership base, and hope to inspire its members with the following goals; To educate and develop public understanding and awareness, and to introduce youth to the sports of darkhouse spearing and summer angling. To be proactive in support of our Minnesota rights to spear.

The Northern Lakes Chapter encompasses the city of Grand Rapids

as well as a large area of the surrounding townships.
